Cineforum: ‘The House at the End of Time’

The House at the End of Time (La casa del fin de los tiempos), is a Venezuelan horror film directed by Alejandro Hidalgo, who would be attending the event via Skype.

The film had its world premiere at the Venezuelan Film Festival, and it was well received in its country of origin, where it grossed $4.4 million and became the highest-grossing horror film in the history of Venezuela. After a festival run in which it won various awards, it also became the most distributed Venezuelan film in the world. New Line Cinema announced that it has nabbed the rights to produce a remake. Alejandro Hidalgo is attached as director and producer.

The House at the End of Time tells the story of Dulce, a mother of two who experiences terrifying encounters with apparitions inside her old house, a place where a tragedy occurs. Thirty years later, an elderly Dulce returns home to decipher the mystery that has tormented her for so long.
